DirecTech sales director to offer online marketing advice to local businesses at Johnston Chamber lu

DirecTech sales director Dan Tooker will provide the full scoop on online promotion for local businesses at the Johnston Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Johnston Public Library.

Tooker’s take on sales will highlight “the ABCs” of promoting one’s business online.

“I am Google certified and [will] walk attendees through the very basics of how the web works and how small and midsize businesses can cost effectively promote their business on the web,” Tooker said.

Tooker added that businesses standing to benefit most from the presentation can range from small- to medium-sized. In particular, Tooker wants to bring local area businesses up to speed on the ins and outs of recognizing legitimate search engine options and specifically, how to identify which resources are right for their companies.

"There are several large and small companies, we call them two guys in a garage, that promise they can get businesses on the front page of Google," Tooker said. "They are deceiving and taking advantage of small and midsize businesses. This will be a very transparent look at how things truly work."

DirecTech operates offices both in Newton and in Des Moines. The library is located at 6700 Merle Hay Road.
